NLP and its Application in Life Insurance

This session will share a brief overview of major natural language processing (NLP) techniques and tasks, followed by use cases to describe how NLP can be applied across the life insurance value chain. The first use case is a solution in Hong Kong where underwriting was perceived as a hurdle to the client at the beginning, but through NLP, underwriting turned out to be a positive enabler. Other use cases will illustrate how NLP can help to improve operational efficiency and accuracy in other business scenarios, such as product definition reviews and claims management.
